Summary

In this project we will i) study the molecular modes of action of the transcriptional repressor TGF-beta interacting factor 1 (TGIF1 ) for identification of the most critical once for Treg cell induction, ii) find optimal approaches to inhibit TGIF1 expression in order to manipulate Treg cell induction in vitro and in vivo, iii) study the interaction of TGIF1 with other transcription factors at the TSD-region of the foxp3 gene, iv) analyze the molecular mechanisms of TGIF1 action on function and survival of Th1 cells, and v) discover whether low-dose CsA treatment promotes differentiation of antigen-specific Tfh and B cells.
